The Judgment Seat of Christ is a rarely taught topic today. I would venture to say that the vast majority of Christians have never heard a teaching on this subject. But it is an important event that will occur in our future.
If you understand this event biblically it will help you live a focused life with a proper perspective. It will also help you live a victorious life decision by decision.
As a Christian there is a day appointed on which you and I will face a judgment…the Judgment Seat of Christ. On that day, religious accomplishments will not bring glory to Christ. It is a life lived by faith and in an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ that will bring Him much glory.
After Jesus’ return, I don’t want you to be surprised by this End Times Event of the Judgment Seat of Christ. Every Christian is going to face this judgment.
It is not a judgment to determine whether you get into heaven or not. This judgment is only for Christians...everyone going through this judgment will enter into Heaven.
This judgment will determine the amount of reward you receive and the amount of loss you suffer as you prepare to enter your final, heavenly home.
God teaches us of this the Judgment Seat of Christ in His Word:
Here we see the fact that we are to be judged. What will be judged? Our deeds. Our good deeds and any bad deeds that have not been confessed. But the most dangerous deeds are those we thought good and yet will be burned up in the fire.
As Jesus taught, good deeds have more to do with the heart than the action or the result. There will be "thriving" ministries that will be entirely burned up. The person will go into Heaven, but with great loss.
To have great reward on that day seek to fulfill your God-given destiny in the context of a love-filled relationship with Jesus Christ...not to be produce, produce, produce as the world pushes its version of success on us. Busyness does not necessarily equal great reward.
God wants us to know about this event ahead of time, so that we can use this biblical information to be preparing now for That Day. The day we get to present Jesus with all of our deeds as an offering to Him. I don't want much of mine or yours to be burned up.
This information about the End Times is to spur us on to godly living here and now as Peter warns us...
Do you see how all of the End Times truths are applicable for today? I want you to suffer little loss and gain much reward, and God has given His Son and His Spirit that this may be possible.
My bride and I are walking in the End Times Application Principles from my book ourselves and we are training our children to think multi-generationally, so that these truths can be passed down from generation to generation until Christ comes again.
Set your eyes on Christ. Walk in all that He has sacrificed for you to walk in. Don't focus on the negative...what might be burned up.
Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in an evaluation of your works. Confess the bad and follow His leading into the good. Focus on Him and He will lead you into good works that you will be able to present Christ with on that day! And as a bonus you will be rewarded greatly for them.
You can learn more about how to live this way and not have much burned up on that day in the application chapter of my book "Living in Light of the Second Coming".
