These four clear millennial passages will help you get a better picture of the Biblical Premillennial stance.  If you are not already familiar with the main passage on the Millennium (Revelation 20) please read it over carefully first.

Or you can go to the Millennium page and read the pertinent text along with some of my teaching on the topic.  This way when you read these four Bible passages below you will have in mind the main teaching on the Millennium.

This is always a good practice to be in, so that the clear passages of the Word are the main filter to help you understand other passages of Scripture.

Millennial Passage #1

I Corinthians 15:22-26

"For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming, 24 then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be abolished is death."

Here, one observes Paul speaking of Christ’s coming followed by Christ abolishing all rule and authority and power.  This abolishing occurs after the Parousia and needs to take place in order to usher in the Millennium.  There is a clear temporal sequence here, which would not make sense in the other millennial views.  Also in this passage, one observes Christ and His people ruling and reigning.  Christ literally and physically ruling and reigning with His saints does not fit Amillennialism or Post-Millennialism.

Millennial Passage #2

Daniel 7:13,14

“I kept looking in the night visions,
And behold, with the clouds of heaven
One like a Son of Man was coming,
And He came up to the Ancient of Days
And was presented before Him.

14 And to Him was given dominion,
Glory and a kingdom,
That all the peoples, nations and men of every language
Might serve Him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
Which will not pass away;
And His kingdom is one
Which will not be destroyed."

This passage, as it describes Christ’s coming and subsequent rule, fits with Revelation 20 very well.  Again, the other views do not fit well here.

Millennial Passage #3

Isaiah 11:2-10

"The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him,
The spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The spirit of counsel and strength,
The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
3 And He will delight in the fear of the Lord,
And He will not judge by what His eyes see,
Nor make a decision by what His ears hear;
4 But with righteousness He will judge the poor,
And decide with fairness for the afflicted of the earth;
And He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,
And with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.
5 Also righteousness will be the belt about His loins,
And faithfulness the belt about His waist.

6 And the wolf will dwell with the lamb,
And the leopard will lie down with the young goat,
And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little boy will lead them.
7 Also the cow and the bear will graze,
Their young will lie down together,
And the lion will eat straw like the ox.
8 The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra,
And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.
9 They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain,
For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord
As the waters cover the sea.

10 Then in that day
The nations will resort to the root of Jesse,
Who will stand as a signal for the peoples;
And His resting place will be glorious."

This passage describes the wolf and the lamb abiding together and a ruler which "will be a signal for the peoples".  This ruler is from "the root of Jesse" and again this scene from Isaiah fits the New Testament passages on the Millennium, Revelation 20 and I Corinthians 15.  The other views do not fit this passage.

Millennial Passage #4

Psalm 2:6-9

“But as for Me, I have installed My King
Upon Zion, My holy mountain.”

7 I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord:
He said to Me, ‘You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.
8 Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance,
And the very ends of the earth as Your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron,
You shall shatter them like earthenware.’”

Again, a king ruling in a millennium-like atmosphere is the picture here.

I hope these millennial passages help clarify the Millennium for you.
